I know that this is not a DAT questions, but does anyone know of a reason that only 466 people applied to the University of Tennessee (according to Predents.com)? This numbers seems awfully low...

i think this is because predents only lists the people that make a profile on that site. Is that where u want to go? cuz thats where i wanna go

My residency is Indiana so IU dental would be my first choice. U of T may be one that I am applying to.

I was told (in another thread) that there are few applicants because this school does not use AADSAS, and because it is a public school. Although it was public it still said that it had 29 out of state acceptances. Although true, I was also told that it has a "pact" with Arkansas so that it will accept 15 students from Arkansas. This makes 29 out of state turn into 14 if you are not from Arkansas, apparently making if unfavorable to many applicants.

no aadsas + public + lazy people not wanting to fill out another app = low application #

oh, btw, the numbers on predents come from the adea dental school guide book (this is what i have deduced thus far)...so i'm assuming they are quite accurate

I talked to one of the ass. Dean because I had a question about my DAT score and he was the rudest F****** redneck ever. After calling and talking to him I know for sure I don't want to even apply down there. I got off the phone with him and almost broke down and wanting to just quit pursuing dental school. What an ass. Anyway, sorry just venting. I really do think he is in the KKK. I really wanted to call back to complain but it's probably no use. The thing is he wouldn't even try to help you out or answer anything...I doubt he even knows anything about the admissions process..and all his replies were "it's on da website!!" Ass****. If you're last name starts with a "P" then you might get him if you had questions. I wouldn't even bother calling because you'll feel like **** after you get off the phone with him. I've talked to a lot of other dental schools reps. and they were all nice. Tennessee is by far my worse experience. Ah well I'll just shake it off.

lol, he's african american. I doubt he's in the KKK.
