Hi,
I know nothing of Case western, but am very familiar with uoft.
Tuition for international students in Canada is also way cheaper than most U.S school. In terms of reputation I'm bias towards uoft as it's the yale of Canada. UofT attracts some of the most competitive students in Canada. Many of these students also want to get into medical school and will go through great lengths to realize their dreams. Unfortunately, competition there is so fierce that most (85-90%) will not make the grades to get into medical school (I'm basing this value on my graduating class who aspired to get into medical school ). UofT has a way of crushing your dreams. That being said, some do manage to excel there. Those close to me who did very well there were generally IB/AP students. If you attend the St.Geo rge campus downtown you'll love it. Rent downtown can be prett pricey ~750-1200$ CDN. The city of Toronto is very live and diverse. You wil encounter really bright, enthusiastic people who will challenge your perspective on many things. Retrospectively, knowing what I know now, I would recommend to anyone looking to get into a professional school, to not go to a big three (UofT, UBC and McGill). The competition is too fierce. However, if you want to pursue graduate studies, doing an undergrad there will open many doors across the world. (Top tier uoft grads have no problem getting into Harvard, oxford, ....)
Just my two cents. If you want a better perspective of google the canadian premed forum and you'll get an abundance of replies.
Cheers!
