University of Washington?!

I called them last week to find out why the grad school application still said items were missing. Turns out they don't update that site. They also told me that they were doing a faculty review of the applications last weekend. I think we will hear within the next week or so.

omg, i'm really nervous about hearing back from UW!
I guess they are sending out all the letters at once!
 
I am excited to hear back from UW. I applied to UPS (university of puget sound) and am waiting to hear back from there as well!! Good luck to everyone!
 
I heard that they were going to send out informal email notifications, then we'll receive the formal letters in the mail.

Did you contact the department? I haven't heard anything from them. Did they say approx when they were going to notify people?

I went to the Open House they had during the Fall. The advisor said middle of March we should start hearing from them by email.
 
Also I just called the advisor and she said all the applicants are still under the review. We should start hearing next week.
 
Okay, so this has to be the week, Right?! Let me know if Y'all hear anything from UW.
 
I called her in the morning today. Thursday afternoon or friday. We all should get an email.

Dang! I didn't hear anything, that's probably a bad thing. Acceptance emails today rejections next week? I have been waiting all day and they still didn't email me...The anxiety is killing me!

Maybe they are reviewing this weekend/early next week to determine who to place of the waiting list and who to accept of the remaining applicants? Trying to remain positive for you guys! I did not apply there but this waiting game is tough, just keep on believing!:xf:
 
Even if that is the case why would they not tell us? Now we get to go the whole weekend with MORE anxiety. Even if I am rejected I would rather know now than Monday. GAH!

I'm in the same boat with a few schools this weekend so I feel you. I keep checking obsessively! Maybe they work late I keep thinking!! Maybe they will still send something! Dreaming of ever scenario... haha.. I'm pulling for everyone here. 🙂
 
Gymastau- Thanks! I keep thinking the same thing! I am in the same time zone as them though so I am guessing nothing is coming until next week. What schools are you still waiting for? I am waiting on UW and Eastern Washington University. At least the doors aren't closed yet, that is a good feeling I guess.

Waiting to hear back from Tufts and Medical University of South Carolina. I applied a few other places as well but they are still reviewing info.

I didn't get an email either.... 🙁 Man... This will be my 4th rejection!! 🙁 it's so hard because I just want to get into school!!!! I am praying and keeping my fingers crossed that I get in to EWU!!! That's my number 1 choice! I hope not receiving an email yet doesn't mean we did get rejected!! I just wish we could know either way!! Good luck to everyone!!!' 🙂 and congrats to those who have been accepted!!

I know, I am kind of obsessive in checking this forum. I keep waiting to see if anyone else has heard anything. Between checking this site and my email, I am ALWAYS looking at the computer or the phone. MAKE IT STOP!

Like everyone here, I am too waiting for UW's response. I don't like the waiting process either.
 
Got offered a spot on the alternate list. Still keeping fingers crossed. I get to play the waiting game, but extended version. Wooh!

I am still waiting. I find it quite strange that people are hearing at different times...it seems more logical to me to make decisions and send them out at the same time. I guess they know what they are doing though.
 
I know I applied because I called to verify that all my materials were received, however, because I am not hearing anything I keep having these waves of panic that my application was never actually received :-(. UW, if you are reading this forum... PLEASE let us know, so we can all be done with the OT application process! I just want to go to an OT school in Washington!
 
Anyone else heard anything? I even emailed them today to ask about when the last decisions would be sent out and haven't heard anything back. I'm really getting nervous that something went wrong. I just got word that I am on an alternate list at another school so I am REALLY crossing my fingers for UW.

Nope. I don't think anything's wrong... it's just a slow process i guess...
I just want to know when they are going to sent out the letters/emails...it is really getting into my nerves...day by day.
 
Mary answered my email and told me I was on the alternate list. She said the alternates would be receiving letters soon and everyone should know more by next week. I want it so bad! I am on 2 waitlists now, no acceptances. I really hope one of them comes through!

My fingers are crossed for all those on waiting lists... it just extends the anxious waiting period! Not fair! I have gotten rejections, an interview from Creighton which I think I am going to decide against, same with Howard University. Still waiting on a few more. Can we throw a big party when it's all over!? 😛
 
The lady I talked to earlier this week said I was offered an alternate position. She didn't give me information on what number on the list I was at.
 
I still haven't heard from them! :-( :-(
 
You should call and/or email. That's how I found out. Mary responded to my email and told me I was on the alternate list. She did say Wednesday that she was sending out all letters that day. Depending on where you are it could come tomorrow or Saturday. If you really want to know though, I would call or email.
 
They are sending out letters through the mail? I thought everything was coming through e-mail...
 
Informal offers of admission were made through email. However, they are sending out formal letters in the mail.

You should get the letter shortly.I just received mine.

What do you mean by all the spots were filled and accepted??? Like nobody declined their acceptance for UW?
 
I think there must be some kind of miscommunication because I know someone who gave up their spot...guess we'll all know sometime soon.

Do any of you happen to know how many people actually declined...
or received an email from UW today?
 
Does anyone happen to know if UW OT program has a GPA cut off? I heard some more competitive schools/programs will set a GPA cut off number and anyone below that number doesn't get their applications considered. Or do they consider all aspects of the application: GPA, GRE, observation/volunteer, LOR, etc.

If they consider everything, is there one aspect that they weigh more heavily than others?

This waiting thing is killin' me! Also, good luck to everyone! 🙂
