UNLV question..HELP!

Hi, guys...let me ask about UNLV dental school.

I have an interview at UNLV in January.

One thing I really want to know is about their tuition.

I've heard D students will pay in-state tuition after yr 1 at UNLV.

Does anybody know if this is also the case for an international student like me?

Btw, I withdrew my interview at Midwestern. I am now deciding whether to go to UNLV interview or not. I don't have any hot information about UNLV dental school. However, I am now hesitating to drop my application to UNLV, because this school is still interesting to me. (I don't care money investment/chance of acceptance for this trip)

If money doesn't matter to you then why bother getting in state tuition? You only get in state tuition if you become a resident of Nevada, has nothing to do with the school. If you can become a Nevada resident then you should be able to get the in-state tuition by the second year.

Have you been accepted to other dental schools?

You can't be a resident of Nevada if you're not a resident of the United States. Does that make sense? If you're an international student, then you will have an I-20 which permits you to stay in the United States so long as you're registered as a full-time student.

Btw, I am now deciding whether to drop my application to UNLV or not.

I still have curiosity about dentistry in Las Vegas. Future of cosmetic dentistry..facility...enough Korean stuffs....curriculum.

However, at this point, I need to know more about UNLV than what is on their website.

I hope someone can share your experience at UNLV. Plus, I want to hear from real people in Las Vegas any good experience of practicing dentistry in Las Vegas. DENTISTRY IN LAS VEGAS & ITS FUTURE

The best way to get your questions answered is to just go to the interview. See the school, see the town, talk to the faculty, and just get your own opinion of Las Vegas and the dental school. That way, if you have specific questions, you can ask them or explain a little more. Yes, I understand it costs money to come out here, but it is you, yourself who will make the ultimate decision.

I live here in las vegas, and I really like it here. Yes, the economy got hit pretty hard with the mortgage crisis so therefore everything else is slowing down. All economies have their ups and downs. The weather here is always dry. It's really hot in the summer 100 plus degrees fahrenheit, and cold and windy in the winter. We have casinos everywhere, but it's up to you if you want to gamble away your money. I just go there to eat.

I work in a private practice dental office as an assistant, and work has been slower since the economy went down. I predict it will pick back up though. Las VEgas is still a cheap place to live.
