2012-2013 cycle.
2nd batch.

Emails sent out for rejections today. I got one. woop wooop.
14 schools left to wait for replies! One more spot for the other applicants 🙂

oh thank god i didn't get that. when was it sent? ill go re-check....

that sgpa prob is what did it for you. are you also a guy and OOS?

an adcom that i talked to told me straight up that if you're a guy and OOS it'll be really really tough. so don't take it personally 🙂

wtf is the difference between male and female in regards to admission...isnt that illegal

Holy crap, I got an email as I was reading this... I thought for sure I was being rejected... False alarm!

Hmmm...that's rough. I'm a girl and OOS--guess I got lucky then!

OOS guy and no email....5th batch.

I think you ladies are confused. It was implied that it is EASIER to get an interview/accepted as a girl than a guy. So you getting an interview while he didn't is perfectly consistent with what he said... Just sayin...

Oh no, I get it, it's just strange that it would be more difficult for OOS males to get intervies. My hmmm was because of how odd the situation is. I just can't figure out why it would be easier for an OOS female to get in than a male.

i was talking to the adcom member for about an hour. really nice person, upfront and everything. i'm not going to go into detail about the convo, but that point was specifically made.

i ruled unlv off of my list because of it. it is a really good school though, minus the price tag

How funny if our interview group is almost all girls. 😛

Btw, they interview ~400 OOS. Kinda daunting... Do you think they would even remember their Day 1 interviewees? I am so paranoid haha.

Oh they'll remember us. I'm one of those obnoxious outgoing people whose usually the life of the party, so hopefully that makes our whole day stand out. 🙂

I didn't get a rejection email yet---I am an OOS girl from Cali 🙂 Hoping for the best...Good luck everyone!

Oh yeah, I got that lol. I just found it interesting that an adcom straight up said that/I'm curious as to why OOS girls are more likely to land interviews.

edit: Now I see why you thought I was confused lol. 😛 I just meant I'm lucky I'm a girl especially since I do have a pretty low sGPA/oGPA.

Well the way I see it is that the schools want to accept about half girls and half guys. So if they get more apps from males than females, they will be more picky about choosing males and less picky choosing the females. That's just a guess...

Bahaha. Oh jeez. I can be that same exact way. Dynamic duo? I think yes lol.

Oh ya, it was 100% my sGPA if not my oGPA as well. Its horribly uncompetitive. I was just hoping they'd pay attention to the other factors, but its ok. I'm going for a Masters program for next fall anyways so I can reapply later.

OOS guy and i didn't get a rejection email.

I haven't submitted the secondary for UNLV yet and I am a 2nd batcher, OOS. Should I even bother to send in that extra fee?

Nope don't send it. I'd hate for you to take my spot!

I would submit your fee you never know. from what I was told is that they interview the high gpa/dat apps first because they usually don't go there because they get better tuition deals in other states. Then they start interviewing the more realistic applicants.
