Thank you for your interest in the UNLV School of Dental Medicine. This year we anticipate over twenty-three hundred applications for the seventy-five positions available. This large number of highly qualified applicants makes admission to the School of Dental Medicine extremely competitive. While this is a positive situation for the school, it does necessitate numerous difficult decisions for the Admissions Committee. After careful review of your application, the Admissions committee has arrived at the decision to not consider your application further.

LAME.

The game is not over...there are still many innings to go. 👍

sorry to hear that.
do you mind telling me your aadsas mailing date and when you submitted unlv's secondary app?

Sorry to hear. Hopefully you get better news from the rest of your schools.
How long did they take them to send you this letter after the letter about your Application Being Complete ?

Application was technically mailed 7/16, but not complete until yesterday when I faxed the DAT scores.

I received this today.

I hate it when they do that. But my guess is that your GPA was competitive and if you had little higher DAT , then you might have had a chance. Are you from Nevada ?

All the horror stories about how hard it is to get into dental school are true. At our orientation, 15 of the 20 2nd year students admitted that they only got into one school. Yea, there are students out there who get into multiple schools, especially seen on SDN, but most people get into 1 or 2. So expect rejections because more will come. Just hope for 1 or 2 interviews, because that's all it takes.

God man, I hate to kick someone while they're down, but after your fax thread, I kinda had to. 😀

Haha it worked out though! Staples FTW!

no worries bro, itll all work out, you're and SDN-er it HAS TO😀

Sorry to hear man...I know mine is coming too. Don't you love how they aren't too good to take your money, but it's a different story when it comes to them helping you out. What I think is BS is that we have to submit all of these secondary app fees on top of other fees, and then at the very end, "sorry, we're not interested in you" lol. Feel like I've been got by someone at times.

I don't know about that. They need money for the time they spend reviewing our application and providing us with support. It is Only $50 anyway. Plus, UNLV is one of the best in providing support to the students and answering questions and ...

i'll have to agree with this. If UNLV actually accepted my cDAT scores, it would be really high up on my list of schools. Not 1st on my list, but pretty high up there

It's like somebody once told me. Albert Pujoles(sp) fails to hit a baseball more than 7 out of 10 times at the plate, but he's still called a future Hall-of-Famer. Keep your head up.
