Currently, I'm in my second semester as a junior. I have a 3.1 GPR at the moment, which is extremely low. I had immune system problems, which caused me to fall very sick regularly. I also sustained a severe head injury as a sophomore, which triggered the onset of very painful migraines for a whole year, which made me almost bedridden during the semesters...and it was a struggle to focus and study for classes. Nevertheless, it affected my grades. I ended up with a D in OChem II at the end of sophomore year.
I am currently prepping for the MCAT, and I am anticipating on a score between 25-28. I have 300+ hours of clinical/non-clinical volunteering and shadowing, some research experience, and a couple of leadership experiences as well. Yea, that and health problems and classes was not a great combo haha.
I am looking into the post-bacc program at UNTHSC, and I was wondering if I would be a good candidate. It would definitely be a great opportunity to prove myself. I want to become a doctor so badly, and I hope that this program will be able to give me a second chance at that.
