How do you know? They said that they keep certain applications to review at a later date.Just got silently rejected. Best of luck to the others.
They updated my status which pretty much said they cannot offer me acceptance at this time. How do you know? They said that they keep certain applications to review at a later date.
Check UNTHSC application status. No email. How can you tell? Did you get an email stating that?

Under application status. If it still says you're app has been received it means they haven't made a decision on you yet. Mine says "We are unable to admit every applicant due to a limited number of seats available. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer you admission at this time."

Sorry to hear that. Would you mind sharing your stats i.e MCAT score / GPA please!!
Ugh, that sucks. I hate hearing about people getting denied. It's a bit odd how they didn't even send an e-mail though.
What's plan B for you?
No worries for the question. As another member PMed me, I will copy and paste my response.
I was at the borderline for both the MCAT and GPA scores. I hope that gives you an idea. I was not a competitive applicant at all.....
From what I understand you need 2 out of 3 things to get into the program (MCAT/GPA/and a combination of LOR, essay, and experience) I only had 1 of those 3 things. I plan on retaking the MCAT and also taking some upper level science courses and getting A's in them this Fall and try again.
Best of luck to everyone else.

This is my second time applying, I had that same decline message back in 2012. I am a career changer, so all I had when I applied the first time was the bare minimum prereqs, and no strong medical exposure outside of volunteering at the hospital. I did the same thing you plan on doing, currently finishing up some upper level science courses, got an additional LOR, and got a bit more experience. I don't know if I will make it in this year, but I really hope I do. This year has been ruff, quitting my job to attend school full-time.
Best Wishes to you!
Hey guys! I got an acceptance email! Did anyone else hear back?

Hey guys! I got an acceptance email! Did anyone else hear back?
sorry y'all I just got out of work
I submitted in early January
GPA is around a 3.5 and MCAT was around a 24
Good luck to the rest of you! And I hope y'all hear back soon and see y'all in May!
I submitted early-mid November, and I haven't heard anything yet. I guess they're not going by the policy of "the earlier you submit, the earlier you'll hear back."
If it's any reassurance, when I did the program last year I was accepted on April 13 after being complete mid-January. I think the majority of acceptances went out around that time for the 2012-2013 school year.
Get used to waiting though, it's 100x worse waiting to hear back from TCOM after applying through the program.
I completely agree with this. Almost done with physio/anatomy and haven't heard anything.
would love to see something different right about this time. like a green check mark 😉
My hate for green circles rises little by little every day. 🙂
When you log in to your hsc, click the HSC Admissions tab, then in the middle of the page that loads click the Student Center link underneath the app status link. Scroll down to see the dots and someday, a coveted green check mark.Where do you guys see this green dot? All it says on mine is that the application has been received and it is completed?

I suppose the green check mark comes after (maybe the same time) as the acceptance email but I'd be the wrong guy to give that kind of info.
Some get the check mark before the email. I got the email and then went online and saw the check mark
Things are moving pretty slow for us this year. Almost April and only one acceptance that we know of on this thread and one rejection.. I'm hoping to hear something this Friday at least, about a new batch. Maybe we will hear about one more acceptance..
What does the financial aid situation look like? The scholarship deadline passed right?
I wonder how many people that have received acceptance / rejections DON'T use SDN or have an account here, though. Granted, Texas is a big place (so most applications are prob Texans), and this particular program in Texas is probably the best / most popular (if not one of) options for trying to get into medical school after completing undergrad.
Haven't checked yet, but is there a new group for this upcoming year, for this program on Facebook?
