UoP - Anatomy

It looks like they will still consider you if you did not take anatomy and physiology, but you had better have some other good classes to compensate. I took anatomy and physiology in undergrad. and am still getting my butt kicked right now just because of the sheer volume of information and the pace we have to learn it. If they advise it, it means that they will assume when they are delivering the information to you that you have had prior exposure to it. In short, I advise taking the course! 🙂

it's not required, but it is a STRONGLY rec course just like Histology, Physio, Microbio, and Biochem. Of course, along with Anatomy. Take them if you have the time and do well, that can always be a plus for not only UOP, but also other dental schools

I didnt take any anatomy in college in had an amazing anatomy professor who made the whole thing seem really simple. Like 40% of my class got A's and another 50% got B's. The tests were incredibly complicated though cuz ive seen other schools tests. Point being it depends on the school and professor as to how enjoyable and lucid anatomy is.

You're definitely right that your experience depends on the professor and school. My thought was that since UOP has an accelerated curriculum, there is probably going to be more info. thrown at them at a faster rate. In that situation, any prior exposure to the material is going to benefit the students.

It's not required... I was there this week for an interview, and the student giving us the tour didn't take it in undergrad.
