Your thoughts please...

My DAT scores are 19/20/19, should I send in my $75 to UOP? From what you all have said, it sounds as if they only want 20 and up.

Most of you have seen my other stuff though my posts (ECs, GPA, Research, ect). So, what would you do if you were me (Besides suicide)?

I realize that it can only increase my chances of getting in, but money (as you all know) is tight right now.

I think you definitely have a chance there, and its only 75$. It's up to you and how much you care about that 75$ and UOP. (Don't forget that you already paid AADSAS to send your material to UOP)

I say send in the $. Who knows what will happen.

But, having said that, I will say my scores are 20/20/21 and a GPA of 3.5 (science 3.4) Bio-Chem major from UC Berkeley and I haven't heard from them. (July application submission). This isn't to deter you from sending in the $, but just, "keep'n it real" on your chances.

Their interview spots are filled through January right now and with a 22/23/22 I still haven't heard from them. Just to give you an idea of how competitive it is this year. Go for it? Sure! There's nothing to lose but $75.

I took the Pre-dental course at UOP and really showed a lot of interest in the school but have heard nothing back. I thought with my DAT scores and taking that course I'd have an interview by now but I still have hope.

Thanks, we'd really appreciate it.

He was at my school last week and did confirm that they are booked for interviews up through January. He said that he would expect that they are in the 21-25 DAT range for interviews now, but there are certain cases like "people with connections" getting interviews with slightly lower numbers. Those cases would be children of alumni, etc. Either way, he said that they have about 90 interviews scheduled and normally they have a 2/3 rate of students accepting them. With the level of competition this year I think more people will hold on to those acceptances so they have filled more than 60 spots so far.

I really really want to go there but the earliest I'm going to hear from them sounds like February and I will have paid $1,000 to a school to hold my spot by then. You gotta do what you gotta do, but of course that's a non-refundable $1,000.

Hopefully Dr. Yarborough gives you some good news to share with all of us.

I just spoke to Dr. Yarbarough last nighit but he couldn't really tell me much about my situation. He was impressed with my DAT scores and said I should just keep calling the admissions office. Of course I have been doing that for months and they must be sick of me already! Oh well, I'll keep on trying. Its good to hear they still have spots available because at this time last year most of the interview slots were already full.
