I am checking my UOP dental school portal for last few weeks and its constantly on hold because its "waiting on DAT scores" My DAT was already processed my ADEA like 3 weeks ago and most schools have started to recieve me app...was just wondering is anyone in same boat for UOP or is it just me.

Nope, call them and ask if they've got your scores. The people at the admissions office are really helpful and nice.

I think I do remember hearing something about UOP taking a bit longer to process apps than other schools since they pretty much offer interviews only to people they will accept.

after the waiting for review update.
it changes to something like wait 7-8 weeks for re-review. everyone seems to get this even those who get interviews.
I forgot what the accepted and rejection update says. I'm sure if you search at UOP thread someone is bound to say it.
they have other updates too like on hold and what not. Its pretty straightforward.

Rejections are usually emailed in April and May. Those that are most likely going to be rejected have their status changed to "Re-review in January" or something along those lines.
However, there are a few students that do receive post-Dec. interviews even after receiving the re-review notice.
So the order goes like this: 1. Waiting for Review 2. Under review, alllow 7-8 weeks". If you happen to be lucky, you receive a call for interview. If not, expect the re-review in Jan status update.

in my AADSAS application I indicated that I was planning on retaking hte DAT in october after my 3 month waiting period. That was when I submitted my app and thought I would be able to retake it but now I'm not so sure I'll be able to but my UOP status says that its on HOLD and its "waiting for NEW DAT scores"
ahhh they won't even loook at my file 🙁
should I call them and ask them to go ahead and review it without the new dat scores?
I didn't know indicating that would harm me. Now I'm scared other schools will not review me as well until they have my new scores in october. I called AADSAS and they told me to put I was planning to retake it even if I was just consdierign it... ahh 🙁

Isn't it a good thing that your file is on hold, rather than getting rejected based on your current DAT scores? UoP is giving you the opportunity to take it again! You can do it. Just study hard!
ahh thanks so much! Yea i didn't know how to look at it, whether it was a good or bad thing. Good: it might mean they are actually considering me and want to see if I can do better or bad because that means they won't even look at my file until late october after most interviews have probably been handed out, so I prob woudlnt get an interview (if any) till post dec =/
but nonetheless, time to study hard! thanks again 🙂
I'm learning a lot of patience this summer. I really should have taken some summer classes or something to get my mind off of waiting for interview invites, lol.

You really do want them to wait to review it... if you have a 18 or lower in any subject you need to retake if you even want a fighting chance.... if you think your scores are good enough to review now go ahead and give kathy or janelle in admissions a call... waiting for review really isnt the end of the world, if you are retaking in october, actually retake in october... dont fall into the sick cycle of rescheduling, especially once you get to november your interview chances dwindle greatly.
go study (but dont let your academics fall in the process) and rock the pat 🙂
^ ooh nooo 🙁 I got a 17 in one section 🙁 but all my other sections are higher than an 18. I'm scared to retake it and have some of my scores on subjects like ochem (21) and RC (20) fall so I'm still torn. I just called them today and they said they haven't even reviewed any files yet so my file on hold isnt necessarily a good thing where they reviewed it already and kind of liked me and wanted to see if i could do better 🙁 It's just simply on hold because its considered incomplete because I was indicating I would retake the test so they won't review it till they have the new scores. & they siad they start offering interviews in sept. ahhh i dunno what to do, i dont wanna be at a disadvantage 🙁

If you told them you are re-taking it on your application, shouldn't you just...re-take it?
well it's just a "planned" retake not set in stone and they said to just call them and let them know if I'm not so there wont be a hold on my file

yea i had the same question
No, i got an interview yesterday, but did not receive an e-mail about active review! Im sure that just means they have started giving out interviews or something and are continuing to look..

i guess the consensus is that you have to have some sort of "tie" with UOP plus solid scores in every section on the DAT to get an interview according to the link double bonded posted....

floss, did u get the "under active review email"?
I have said tie and got nada. My brother graduated from UoP a year ago... I just talked and he said they may be going in alphabetical order and he also said a lot of people are in state at first. If you look at predents of people with interviews at UOP right now all are from Cal but one. Sure its only 5 people but its plausible.

I wonder what criteria they go by cause your profile seems incredible. I figured I had as good a shot as anyone for getting a phone call because I have a pretty strong app too. My last name starts with a c and I haven't gotten a call. Maybe they save the best for last 🙂.. haha.

That might explain why these invites are so unpredictable. Has anyone received an interview who doesn't have some kind of tie there? I was thinking about visiting the campus over the summer, but then I figured it probably wouldn't make that much of a difference or be worth the flight out. I might be kicking myself for that decision if I don't get a phone call.

My status was updated on their site on 8/30 with "Interview." I never received any emails notifying me of a status change.
