I recently received an interview invite from UoP. However, one of the questions in the email I received is: "
Academic

Have you ever been subjected to any disciplinary action or disciplinary warning by any of the educational institutions you have attended?

If yes, please explain.

The only negative thing on my AADSAS app is that I was written up for being drunk in the dorms my freshman year. I had to write an essay and attend a workshop as my punishment. I already explained this in my AADSAS app. I just do not know if the question above is referring to cheating or any other academic trouble. I'm not sure whether my alcohol incident is relevant here. Sorry if this is a stupid question but I could really use some of your guy's opinions. Thanks and good luck to everyone who wants an interview there!

p.s. Since I got an interview with them, they HAD to have read over my wrongdoings and somewhat forgave me right (in my AADSAS app, I also mentioned how I matured and learned from it)? And I understand I will probably have to explain myself at the interview again.

I know that UoP is known to accept most if not all pre december people. However, I am scared whether my past incident as a stupid freshman will make it harder for me to gain acceptance to UoP

if I remember right the aadsas has a limit of 1000 characters on that section. Unless you incorporated into your personal statement. character count might be wrong but i remember there was a limit.

so while it for the most part is a repeat question you could elaborate further. At least that's what I did when I got repeat questions on secondaries. Unless they gave me some limit.

IMO, If you wrote about it in that section on your AADSAS application, then thats where you should write about it on the secondary (or whatever it is).

btw, they have definitely seen it if they invited you for an interview. I dont think its that big of a deal. I wouldnt drone on about it and bring extra attention to it. Don't loose sleep over it....you already got the interview. Congrats.

I don't think your alcohol incident is what they want to hear here. It's under "Academic" so only put down academic related offenses. If they question why you didn't say anything about the incident in your secondary just explain that it was not an academic offense.

Part of the application process is reading the questions carefully. Hence, why reading comprehension is on the DAT.

I would explain it again.

In fact, I would just copy and paste your blurb straight from AADSAS. Better to be safe than sorry.

Oh man, I am so torn on what I should do! All of you guys have very logical opinions on my situation (thanks!). They all make sense to me! ahhh please keep the opinions coming! I might be leaning 55:45 in favor of not listing it since the question has the heading "Academic," so alcohol incidents wouldn't be relevant here. But I still don't know yet. Any opinions welcome! Thanks guys, I appreciate it

If it was your school that got you in trouble for it and not the police, then I would write, "Yes, I have been disciplined by my academic institution. During my freshmen year I was disciplined for... This is what I did about it... This is how I grew from it..." No use trying to hide it since it is in your AADSAS app.
