i did call Patricia King and she told me that they have recieved a lot of app. so its gonna take them a while for reviewing them. so probably they r gonna send out calls by the end of oct. if u guys have any idea abt the prac exam and the interview do let me know.Does any 1 of u know the no. of seats in UOP?

Hi guys,
when i spoke to them while sending in my app they said we can expect to hear from them only by end of oct/1'st wk nov.so i guess all we have to do is wait.
 
hi guys,

Just went to UOP today..they seem to be reviewing the applications and they said they will start selecting the candidates from Tuesday.

She said we should be able to hear from them by the end of the next week...i.e. around the end of the month..

So, good luck waiting..

hey guys any1 knows about the uop interview? whn i called thm up on thursday , they said tht we will be getting the calls by the end of this week. and whn i asked him whn the interview dates would be , he said around mid nov. shouldnt they have sent us something by now for interviews starting on mid nov?
we cant book last min tickets, can we.

ucsf interview finishes on nov 17 . how did they coordinate this?

Tell me onething Ann how difficult is the interview at UOP.If you dont take any practical traning in US will you be able to do it.I have heard that they give you a model and you will have to follow it .And what will they do for 4 days !!!!!!!!!!!!!

iam not sure about the interview process in uop. i dont think they have a written exam. i am not sure. they have a practical exam for which they let u practice at the school. i am thinking one day for interview , one day for orientation and 1day for practical exam. do have any idea how many seats they have this year and how many poeple have been called for the interview? r u going to the ucsf interview. if yes, thn how are u going to coordinate both the interviews

Hi ANN,
No I havent applied to Ucsf.But are u telling me that the dates are going to clash with UOP 😱 That would be a problem then.What are the dates for Uscf?Is 17 the common date for both.
 
i also got a call in the morning from UOP . Interview date is 17th to 20th. They dont have written exam. just practical and interview. There is orientation on the day of practice session.
 
Can you guys, who got calls from UOP, please post your scores?

Any idea how many they call for interview and how many they finally take?

the ucsf dates r from 12 to 17
i still didnt get any call from uop . i tried calling thm up but it goes to voicemail. i dont know if i am going to be called. does any1 know how many people r going t o b called?
btw , neha dont u have upenn interview on nov17?

Does UOP give instruments forthe practical test? I have heard that they wont be giving this year and we have to get our own hand piece?

i called uop and they told me that those given a invitation will recieve a call and those rejected will recieve a mail. i have my fingers crossed. i yet havent received a call.
 
They called me on the phone today about interview. It's on the 17 - 20th of Nov. They will send the letters out with all the details.

My stats are NDBE 83, GPA 2,92, TOEFL 277, 12 years of exp in my country and 3 months in the US

no offence to you but you are lucky to get a call with your stats
i have 89 in part 1 ,273in toefl and 3.17 gpa
i was refused a call
what is the criteria for their selection??

well i think 12 yrs of experience matters.not all schools dont give credit for the yrs u haveworkedin ur homecountry. dont worry nimesh keep following it up .

i didnt get a call but i called thm yesterday they said tht i have been selected for the interview. i guess u have to bring ur own handpiece.
no exam fees though.
does any1 know wht they might ask for the practical exam.
no written exam
on 17th it starts at 4.30 pm so it wont clash with ucsf if any1 of u is going.

I got the interview call nov 2th and I canceled it in the same day.
This year UOP will take people with a lot of experience. They change everything this year. I thing the person with 12 years exp will get it.They don't care to much about the part1. Do good at practic and you will be in the class 2007.

i am in a fix here. i have an interview from upenn on nov 19th . but uop also has on the same time. upenn cannot postpone the interview date.
i dont know wht to do
can some1 help me here

The info they sent me tells us to bring just a handpiece and 2 by 2 inch picture of yourself.
Looks like they will have interview on the 18th and 19th, my guess is that on Wednesday they will split uz to groups and inteview each group on certain time. But this is just my guess.
 
Congratulations to all of those that got an interview call from UOP. It's a great place to be and they sure make you feel like at home.

I just wanted to let you know that the process has changed from last year when I interviewed, I have no idea how is the new process is going to be. All I know is that it's going to be only one interview, instead of 3 separates ones like previous years.

If you still want to know about last year interview run a search on this forum. Last year me and some other members posted our experiences on extreme detail here on SDN, and I do know some people found it useful.

Sadly, I don't have the memory to recall a year back and since I'm in school I certanly dont' have the time to type whatever I recall. If you get into UOP or any other IDS program you'll understand my standpoint, it's just as hectic as you can imagine.

So, good luck on your interviews, good luck with the search function and hope to see you all here next year. If there's anything I can help I'll be glad to. Good luck! Meggs. :luck:

yes they confirmed tht thr is going to be only one interview. meggs i have interview in upenn on 19 . uop interview is frm 17th to 20. 18th and 19th r the interview dates.will the uop people reschedule my interview on 18th so tht i can attend upenn also? is it ok for me to tell tht i have another interview and i am flying to phily for tht on 18th night and back again on 19th evening for the practical exam on 20th? will they understand or will they hold this against me?
 
hey..they asked us to bring our hand peices (4 hole handpeices). everything else they will provide.

NB:92 GPA:3.86
MS in restorative with GPA:4 TOEFL: 570
with work experience,research...
But they sent me a letter their program is very competitive and although I am highly qualified but I can apply for next year,,, ....

what can I do for stronger application?

Where did u do ur MS in restorative dentistry? How did u get in?Don't worry I'm sure u'll be able to get in next time..

UOP basically looks for work experience here in the US...how much experience do u have here?U might want to work on it if its not too great..

Hope this helps..well, actually I'm sailing in the same boat as yours and now and trying to work towards getting some experience here..
