Okay...here it comes. It looks like I will have to come up with about $23,000 for July 11th. Almost $14,000 for tuition and $9,000 for the doctoral kit. Now, my question is how are we supposed to come up with that much cash since it looks like our financial aid will not be dispersed until after school begins? Is this right?

What is everyone else's plan?

Hi cwisa-

I'm just curious where you got these figures from? The way I understand it is that the UOP Financial Aid Office will contact us (sometime at the end of this month or early April) regarding financing school costs. They should have sent you a tentative schedule in one of their mailers.

Are you posting because you got something in the mail recently? I'm not exactly sure about tuition costs before school, but I definately know that our dental kit is around $3900...not $9000 and is due sometime in April.

cwisa is posting numbers from a recent mailing from uop. As for the $9000 doctoral kit, there's a defferment plan available. I'm gonna do that because there's probably no way I'll be able to pay that much by July.

Yes, I just received information for the second deposit and estimated costs for tuition for the three years plus health requirements etc. The second deposit is $2,000 and this is applied to the total cost of the doctoral kit which is $11,966. After deposits the balance is $8,966 for the doctoral kit and that payment can be deferred if you qualify by completing and sending in the deferment agreement. That is okay, but it also states that first quarter tuition ($13,843.75) is due no later than Friday, July 11th. In the financial aid guide provided at the interview it states that financial aid funds arrive after school begins. Does anyone know if we have to use private loans or credit cards to cover the first quarter tuition until our fin. aid arrives?

I didn't read the info about having to pay the first quarter tuition by July. I just glanced over the stuff so I probably missed it. I'm not sure what I'm going to do. Are you sure that the financial aid only arrives after school begins? I'm gonna talk to my friend, who's a 2nd year at uop, and ask him what he did. If anyone have any additional info concerning this, plz post. Thanks.

I got it. In the packet it mentions that the financial aid award letter will be mailed in late April so relax guys.

Any shortfall amount will be covered by alternative loans.

I don't think we need to collect extracted teeth, because if we do the admin should have told us already, also when I was there for my interview no body said anything about it.

I don't think we will need to collect teeth either. There has been no mention from UOP regarding this. Of course, there is the chance that we may have not gotten the info yet.

My friend from uop told me that you do need to collect teeth but not until later. He said that you won't start using them until the 4th quarter so I guess we don't have to worry about it right now.
