Hey,
So I need some help about whether I should apply this coming up cycle or not. Currently my GPA is a 3.28 and sGPA is a 3.35. My GPA was low due to my freshman year (2.8 both semsters) but Im retrying to recovering from it. After this semester I'm expecting a 3.36 or so. I've taken my DAT and my score was 22AA, 22TS and 24PAT. Should I apply? What schools should I apply too? I'm a Colorado resident but the dental school here seems way to difficult to get into to, Im soo confused!

I think you're in a good position to apply. DAT scores are solid, which will help you a great deal. Provided you have a decent amount of extra curriculars, you should get some interviews.
Off the top of my head, I think Columbia is one school that focuses (a bit too much) on the DAT. Apply there. They don't care so much about GPA.

Since a lot of overachievers are posting and boasting about their amazing stats, you are bound to get people who have borderline credentials in certain aspects of their application get scared.

As to the OP I agree somebody is bound to accept the individual as long as the interviews are not bombed.

I was just asking for some help, not flaunting my stats. I constantly worry about whether I can get in or not. I do have quite a bit of EC, and the schools Im lookin at are: BU, NYU and Tufts. Let me know what you think!

apply to a bunch of schools! Don't limit yourself, and don't only apply to the expensive provate ones either. Throw in some state schools. You never know what could happen. I think your DAT scores are really good and that will help you! Definitely apply this year!

I wasn't referring to you. We see plenty of 3.8-4.0 with 20+ stats that make some people with strong stats like yourself doubt themselves. I think you should not shy from applying to state schools.. You can use the private schools that you mentioned as schools to fall back on if state schools don't pan out. You are in no way at a disadvantage and don't feel like that. Where are you from?

i agree with most of the others.

remember to use the ADEA book and predents.com to look at stats to help you pick schools.

apply smart and be on top of things.

Something is telling me this thread is a bored person's prank.
If I'm wrong I apologize. I'll suspend my cynicism and give you the benefit of the doubt. You will definately be able to get into dental school with your stats. The GPA is mediocre but killer DAT scores are imposible to ignore. Spread your choices out to about 15 schools. Add some cheaper schools that give out of staters residency (Buffalo, UNLV, etc) and add some of the selective schools too (Columbia, UCSF). I don't know much about CU, but I'd be suprised if they didn't at least give you an interview.
