Update for Primary Mistake???

On my primary app I forgot to include one of my clinical volunteering experiences that had 100hrs. Now it looks like I only have 50hrs of clinical volunteering. I had shadowed and volunteered at the place and put the shadowing hrs only but forgot the volunteering even though I went over the app so many times. I have emailed/uploaded a letter to schools that allow it. However, for schools that say they do not accept update letters, can I still send them an email? It's more of a correction than an update and might hurt my app if they think my clinical volunteer hours are low.... Would sending a correction to these types of schools also hurt me or???
