Hi I hope this is the right place to post this! I want to write an update letter to a couple of my schools and just have a couple of questions about this.

1) I will be presenting a poster at a university symposium. This poster is on the same topic as a manuscript that we hope to submit soon. I mentioned this manuscript in preparation in my first update letter, so would it be too repetitive to mention a poster presentation on the same topic in the second update letter? The manuscript and poster do have different titles.

2) another abstract I co-authored was accepted for poster presentation at a different conference. I’m not the presenting author so I won’t be attending the conference, but would it be okay to still mention this abstract in an update letter?

Thanks in advance!

Neither is really update worthy, but this late in the cycle it couldn’t hurt to let schools you’re still waiting on an II from know that you’re still interested. If you interviewed with the school already, don’t send the update.

Yes this would be post-interview
When did you last communicate with the school? I agree it probably won't move the needle. Be mindful of any instructions you had at your interview day about updates. Some schools will limit you, while others will let you submit as many as you want.
