Grades are usually not update letter worthy, unless you have a significant upward trend in GPA.

If you're dying for communication, how about a letter of interest?

Anyways. I think the common knowledge is to only send an update letter when you've done something substantial. If you're already a high performing student, I don't think another semester of 4.0 will change anyone's mind.
