Hi!
I have a question to the guys who have sent update letter(or letter of interest) to the medical schools.
Nowadays, is it better to send the letter via email as a PDF attachment? Or is it better to physically mail it in?
Which way schools prefer?

Thanks.

I'd emailed a couple in my day, nothing too formal, just in the body of an email. This was just for interest, to make sure the schools knew I was still out there. If you have something official to tell them, grades, projects, etc., I'd write out a formal letter, print it off and use to old fashioned postal service so they can put it in your file. It's also sort of tough to tell who will be receptive to these things. I had some deans email me back thanking me profusely for my interest, some gave me a mild grunt and most just ignored it all together. Hit or miss. Can't hurt as long as you aren't updating them a couple times a day 😉

I'm in the same position as the OP. Anything I write just seems awkward/cheesy though.
It's like:
"Hey, I have nothing to update you with since I'v been working full time since May... Just emailing you to say Hi, I'm still interested...waiting for an interview.... yea... Nice talking to you... bye?"

I don't know, are letters of interest really that shallow? I can get mine to like 6 sentences of just fluff.
