I'm working full time, and I recently received a salary adjustment (in a good way!) based on "merit." Would it be appropriate to include this in my update letters? Since I don't have any new grades, I figured this was sort of like making an "A" for the year or so that I've been working.

Many thanks!

Seems pretty thin. Adcoms don't want pieces of paper that don't really tell them anything new. Saying "I'm still doing a great job at work" hardly seems worth it, and may sound a little desperate. I'd reserve update letters for new things like new grades, new volunteer gigs, new awards, etc.

aright, thanks ntf. i don't think many of the typical update information really apply to nontrads or people who are working full time. no grades unless you counted performance evals, no awards unless you counted bonuses/raises, etc. maybe some new activities, but that would be it.

Agree with the above.
It is unlikely to help and might make you look desperate or just a little odd.
If you haven't told your #1 school that it's your #1, I'd try that first.
