I've submitted my app to my schools but not all of my LOR's are in yet. As they start coming in, am I supposed to click the "update my application" link on aadsas? Or do the schools automatically get this update w/o me pressing that link?

I don't think so. You can check your pdf file to see if the evaluation status has been changed or your status on evaluation.
