update on FA Step 2 CK 2006 edt.

Well I have been using FA step 2CK the newest edition for a few weeks now and have been comparing it as i read to other review books and I think hands down FA Step 2 is great-I think the perfect combination is FA, Crush and USMLE world IMO-i havent done usmle world but going by what people say. But as far as books go i think FA and crush completment each other nicelye. FA is more detailed and organized for a more thorough review and crush is good and quick for re-reading the super high yield points. I think if you want a pretty thorough review use FA plus crush and then usmleworld for questions. ok just my thoughts as i continue to get through FA.

Hi, I just bought the most recent edition for First Aid for USMLE, Step 2-CK, though I am still awaiting its arrival. I believe the copyright date is from September of 2005. Is this latest edition noticeably better than the previous edition? How so? I read the early parts of the older FA for Step 2 and it seemed pretty good. Any thoughts on the USMLEworld vs. Kalpan Q-Bank debate? Thank you!!

i dont know the difference between the different versions. i just walked into our book store and got the latest one. its pretty good in my opinion. as far as the questions sources, i believe the usmle world has received considerebly better reviews than kaplan qbank among our fellow sdners. i havent tried it myself so i dont really know from experience.

got the 4th and 5th edition (2006). there is a significant difference between the two editions.

4th is more like case presentations, provides a quick step 1 info review at the beginning of each section, etc.

I just received the latest edition of First Aid for USMLE, Step 2-CK in the mail. It is actually quite a bit SHORTER than its predecessor! However, it seems very thorough and should be an excellent source as one prepares for Step 2. Please continue to comment on USMLEworld vs Kaplan. I am going to purchase seen and am leaning (heavily) towards USMLE world, but would like as much feedback as I can get before going through with the purchase. Thank you!
