I have just had a publication accepted into a journal. I want to update the 12 schools I am waiting to hear from (pre-interview). It is the week before Christmas, and I’m assuming most offices are closing down. Would I be better off to send now, knowing interviews are filling up, or to wait when the offices might be full again in January? @Goro @gonnif @LizzyM

either is likely fine but I'd do it sooner rather than later. Basically, I see no advantage in waiting. Better yet, I'd send the update + a short letter of interest to each school for a personalized touch but that's n=1

Just send it now. Nbd. If they won't read it now, they won't read it after the new year when the coordinators are rushing to schedule everything and they are chiseling down potential matriculants.
