So basically i got my GPA verified and it's a hopeless 2.61sGPA, and a 2.60 BCP. I got 1 A+s only and it was an online course. I just finished a kaplan dat course, and yes it was good i learned a lot the tutor was awesome. Hopefully its similar. And he said with a really good dat score i can get accepted????

So, i got my Reference letters, and also i talked to a biology professor and she said i have a low chance of doing my masters with her, would it be worth it if i wait and see what she says, or sign up for a post bac? UGHH i hate stupid GPAs!

what is your question...?

are you planning to take the DAT and apply this cycle?

if you can't decide between master program and post-bac, why don't you sign up for post-bac and wait for your professor's answer. If she says yes, just withdraw your application for your post-bac and go to masters, if she says no then you can go to post-bac without any delays.


If you are satisfied with your Kaplan course, I am happy for you but a lot of people felt that the Kaplan course was not enough at all for preparing DAT.

Acceptance is highly unlikely even with a high DAT score. You can apply and see how it goes. That said, there are people who are accepted with a sub 3.0 GPA. Invest in the ADEA Guide to Dental Schools and take a look at the stats for your state school(s). Some of the lower stats belong to students from under-represented minority groups, others are non-trads that messed up their grades when they were younger but showed a significant upward trend on their most recent course work. Focus on getting A's in all of your upcoming classes- you need to get over the 3.0 hump to have even a low chance. Also, be prepared to explain your past poor performance- i.e. personal problems, lack of focus, etc.
