I know this question has been asked but since many schools now accept LORs directly from AMCAS would it be okay to send an additional LOR via snail mail directly to the admissions office?

You should call them and ask first they they accept LORs through snail mail and not through AMCAS.

If it's an LOR specific to one school, yes. I did it earlier for a school and wound up with an interview off the hold list. Woohoo!
