updated guidelines on scs in patients with pacemaker and/or AICD

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I've used that source as well. I've always just asked the cardiologist for clearance and "can we put a magnet on their device during the procedure?" All but one time they've said yes. The only exception was when they said, "Yes, but I want my pacer/defib rep there to check the device before and after the procedure. I've never fried a pacer/defib, to my knowledge and (knock on wood) no cardiac events during any RFs.

There’s this from SIS: https://cdn.ymaws.com/www.spineinte...r/factfinder/FactFinder_2018_01_SCS_Pacem.pdf

According to my Nevro rep, who used to be a pacemaker rep so in this case may actually know what he’s talking about, the filter on the pacemaker should very easily disregard electrical interference from an SCS, especially high frequency.

Thanks much- did not know that about AICDs- just assumed that stims were still not a good idea with them. That is good information to know.
