Updating grades (transcripts)

After your transcripts have been submitted through ERAS is it standard procedure to update your grades (rotations) with programs that you plan to rank. My school does not do this, but they will forward official transcipts if I pay for them to be forwarded.

To the best of my knowledge, very few people do this. Can't imagine it really making a difference, one way or the other. I don't plan on doing it, nor do any of my friends. If you've gotten good grades in 3rd year, I don't think an additional "good" grade since transcripts were mailed out in Oct/Nov would really make a difference. Likewise, if you haven't done well 3rd year, I can't imagine a "good" grade late in your 4th year (when grade inflation runs rampant) would really change anything. Thus, I can't really see any circumstance where sending out an updated transcript would be of a benefit. I'd suggest saving your $$$$.
