Is there a way to remove/update prescriber info in the CVS system, specifically the address? Also, is there a way to make the store prescribers show up automatically along with the Rxconnect prescribers?

There is no way to change or remove an address without calling and reporting it to the helpless desk. You can, however, add a new address or make a new profile.

But if you do, there will be no SPI, so you can't send electronic refill requests.

I don't understand why either we can't update this in the store or they don't have an active engaged department working on this. 2 out of every 3 request calls I do is an incorrect address/phone etc. makes so much work for pharmacists that can be avoided.

Start sending prescriptions that were typed in under a physician at the wrong address back to QT. Once technicians get into the habit of making sure the physician selected matches the hardcopy/ fax/ erx sent exactly (that includes address/phone/fax), you'll stop having that issue during your follow-up calls.

I called the helpdesk to delete most of the doctor's old or duplicate addresses.
I also called to have the helpdesk update prescriber's SPI number. Can
someone explain to me SPI NUMBER and if it's updated, do the doctors receive my electronic requests?

Geez, you've had to ask them to update the SPI? My software downloads a daily Surescripts update through the software vendor. There's nothing manual about it.

The CVS prescriber update is a freaking joke.

Many doctors are in the computer but not in the computer at the address that our script is from which was already a problem, but now you need more information just to search for the prescriber to begin with and in many cases all that is available is a scribble of a last name on the script. I used to be able to make out the first 3 letters of the last name and throw in a phone number but this is no longer possible.

And for scripts that I am transferring from out of state I pretty much need the DEA or NPI because a central search with first name, last name, and phone number will yeild so many results that the computer won't even let me view them.

And the crappy system won't let me update a doctors last name when they get married.
