Any Penn students out there that can give me advice about housing for a first year. I am moving there with my gf so I would need an apartment. Recommendations? living close to campus the first two years? If so what apartment buildings or areas? Is center city an option, would you recommend that the first two years or wait till you established and know the city? Any advice would be great. Thanks in advance.

My recommendation is to not move in with your girlfriend.... Ha.

Don't live "on campus" I made that mistake my first year. Try and find a place in west Philly within a few blocks of the dental school (40-45th street, and anywhere from Chestnut to Pine).

I moved to center city my second year, being close to school is not the issue, it's cost. Apartments in center city are much more expensive but people tend to love living down here. You have to decide what you prefer. If you want any specific information PM me.
