Essays:
1) Spoke about growing up by the water, and assisting with research involving bivalves and crustaceans, as well as field work with larger marine fauna like skates, rays and mantis shrimp. This reinvigorated a desire to work with animals, so I began working for a single doctor practice that was extremely hands on and let me perform dentals and assist in surgeries very early on.
2) Spoke about how I really appreciate how the university values diversity (I am Afro-Latina) and how the success of their students is so incredibly important.
