Does anyone know if UPENN will accept just COMLEX scores for pediatrics residency or they want/prefer USMLE scores? How competitive is UPENN for pediatrics?

I've only taken COMLEX so I was wondering if it was worth to do some rotations there as a 4th year.

I can't say for certain, but I highly doubt they would take COMLEX only. CHOP is one of - if not THE - most competitive peds programs in the country.

I interviewed there with only COMLEX. I did however do an acting internship there in the CICU. At some places it is etiquette to grant an interview to visiting students(provided they don't dislike you after your rotation). I don't know if this is Penn's policy or not. I also do not know of anyone else who interviewed there with only COMLEX, however, many friends of mine did not apply thinking they would not have chance.

My advice would be if you have any interest in going to a program, it doens't hurt to atleast apply. Even if you don't interview or match there, it was one of the best rotations of my fourth year. I saw amazing pathology and worked with leaders in the field (not that you can't do that at other places). Feel free to PM me if you want and best of luck in pursuing a pediatrics career.
