I've looked everywhere for this piece of information. But couldn't find it anywhere. Not even the document that Doc posted (Upenn was not there).
Anybody know by any chance?

I was on an interview last week. Corky said that they will interview exactly 360 prospects for 120 seats.
I wrote down 120 seats out of 366 interviews on my notes I took, but don't remember her mentioning number accepted (or did she?)
oo so do most schools send out more acceptances than the number of seat that they are offering (with anticipation that some accepted applicant will choose another school?)
That is correct! 👍
I really doubt that... That is why there are post December interviews. Also, suppose a lot more applicants do decide to go to Penn this year. What now?
that does not make sense. if they send out more admission letters than the seat availability, what would upenn do if all those students who got letters decide to attend penn? obviously the school cant take back those letters..
and if they do send out more letters than their seat, why wouldnt that raise the applicant's chance to get in?

penn will send out more acceptance than their available seats. not all applicants will say yes to penn because of different reasons (preference in location, tuition, etc) and usually people who get accepted by penn are pretty decent applicants so they will have multiple places to choose from. it comes down to how many more over 120 spots are they sending out acceptance to. but im sure it's not something for us to worry about because apparently the school will have statistics from past years to guesstimate the number of people who will decline the acceptance on december 1st (i believe this is true to most other dental schools if not all), and that's how you get second rounds of acceptance on january 15th and the ongoing spots-filling.
Have most of you guys interviewed already?
I just got the notification from UPenn within this week that I was invited for an interview. I still have to set up the time though.
Do they have only a few large interview dates where they interview nearly all the applicants? Or do they interview a smaller amount of applicants every two weeks...?
Sorry I didn't post my stats. My GPA is ~3.7-3.8 and US DAT is 22AA/23TS/25PAT. I'm a Canadian.

Does anyone know how decisions go? Like once you have an interview is the committee done with your grades, and the interview decides the rest and who gets the spot? Or do they score you somehow...grades and character combined post-interview? I've heard of certain schools doing it both ways.
I'm interested in this as well. Are decisions based on interview performance or will they go back and compare GPAs and DATs? Does anyone know how many people have accepted thier offers or how many offers/interviews they have extended so far? Interviewing this month, and would love to be at Penn
I have not heard how they decide. I do know when I was in my interview, the interviewer told me "I just want to make sure you are who you say you are." So, if that is the case, GPA/DAT are decided before the interview.
I would say that the number of accepted/extended is not info for the public....
What do you mean by decided before the interview? Also are you a reapplicant (curious bc it looks like you did a post bac)?
I feel as though they would probably extend an interview based on your application (GPA, DAT, Extras, Shadowing, Personal Statement, and Penn's Secondary). If you didn't have a the type of application they were looking for, why would they interview you in the first place?
I am a re-applicant, however, not to Penn. I did a post-bac because I was a Psych major undergrad and never took all my required science courses.
