Yeah, it is around 10 people/day. It's two 1-on-1 interviews, one closed file and one open. So you can pretty much predict what kinds of questions you'll get. There are so many different interviewers, so you won't get one consistent answer about the types of questions you'll get. It's just super laid back; the faculty and students are intimidatingly friendly.

Amazing school. Unfortunately, for me, it seems to be among everyone's top choice this year. Competition is gonna be rough. 🙁

Don't forget expensive price tag. Being stuck in a dungeon. Getting mugged if you escape from the dungeon. Everyone asking you if you know the Bachelorette. Getting fat from eating Philly cheese steaks.

Interviews are laid back and casual, but you still have to appear confident, keep good eye contact, not stutter, showcase an outgoing/personable demeanor, etc. They need to reject people based on their personality, too. lol

They are planning to get D1/D2 students out of the dungeon, and up to the 3rd floor.

Don't think it's as simple as how well you interview....ADCOMS usually go back and review the entire file of an applicant before making a final decision. You could have a phenom interview and have them still waitlist you for other issues with your app..

Lots of research and community service and externships available. Oh yeah, the dental school is right next to the main campus too, you don't find that very often at other schools.

The whole point is to discourage people from picking Penn, until we get acceptances. Grrrrr, thanks for upping the competition 🙁.

I completely agree. From what I've gathered from interviewing and talking to dental students at Penn and other schools, Penn has the best balance between strong didactics, strong clinical, and strong research. The DAU/EFDA programs are one-of-a-kind. The mandatory 4-week externship. The specialization rates. The campus connected to the gorgeous main campus. The honors designations for research, clinical, and community outreach. The layout plans for the new clinic renovations. The reputation. The dual-degree programs (especially with Wharton School of Business). The research opportunities.

I could go on forever about why I loved Penn. Please just accept me. Please.

Do the students that give us tours and eat lunch with us have a say in who gets admitted? Random students came into our lunch along with students assigned to the time slot, so I just talked to anyone. I dont know if its going to hurt me if I didnt talk to the the "assigned" students for lunch.

Basically, is admissions based on the open/closed interview or does it include the student informal talks?

Does it say they're no longer offering it? I didn't know they were officially offering it yet...I remember them saying something about getting everything finalized
