hi i have a query regarding UPEN PASS supplemental application. The first question is

1.Please list any extracurricular activities or leadership positions held in dental or professional school and include dates and total hours of your participation and a description of activities.

I am torn between adding extra-curricular activities that had nothing to do with study of dentistry such as performance, acting, dancing, organizing functions at dental school.

or dental related extra curricular activities,
such as poster competitions, attending symposiums, observerships etc?

so basically i want to know what constitutes extra curricular activities? dental or non-dental related activities?

any help with be highly appreciated.

Dear Shefdent, for my particular question, I included all of my extra-curricular that are both dental and non-dental related. I even added that I captained my med class soccer team, amongs many other activities.

NB: Im not an authority, this I did as I understood the question.

Hello everyone,

Some University like UPENN asked following question:

After graduating the IDS program, what are your 1-year and 5-year goals? How you will you achieve them?

What should we writer in this one?

Is it compulsory to write and send them application package?

I found it @ few university's requirement for International dentist to be filled out - one of them is PENN dental UNIVERSITY.

I have been applying to the schools here in the USA from the past 3 years. I never got a single interview call. I have finished NBDE Part1 and Part2. My TOEFL score is 106. I have 18 months of dental assistant experience, 4 months of community service experience, and 1 month of research assistant in a lab. I'm applying to almost all universities that I'm eligible for. But still did not received a single interview call.

I'm not sure about the mistakes that I might be doing. Can anybody please share something that might help me atleast to get an interview call.

Try to improve your statement of purpose. Boost how much ever you can. You have to let them know everything about you- (professionally) and how much you are interested in this field. They expect you to show it in writing. There are also people who can help you write SOP's. Also go for good recommendation letters. University people wants know your personality and character before you are selected. Letters the only way to show them you are of good character.
