i visited my friend at upenn and he likes it a lot. dont know much about it other than a good rep and clinical program, and if you're into specializing I believe Upenn is successful with that

nice.. do you know what the job market is like for UIC grads? I read on the dental town forums that many uic dental graduates are unemployed, and the ones that are are in dental mills or in a private practice because of special connections.. this statement is probably not true, but I am curious to know what most of the class is doing after graduation

UIC - 290K in state, 436K out of state
Penn - 366K
If you're in state, then I would go UIC. If you're out of state, I would go Penn.
you really think that the increase of 76K is worth passing up an ivy league school? im considering specializing so i think the price might be worth it.

Your decision, but remember 76K after taking the 5.8+% rates offered end up costing close to150K in repayment. The above poster said almost 50% end up doing further training...thats pretty solid too.
doing residency is not the same thing as specializing. Besides as a
specialist you get paid more so you can afford to have higher loans, if I had a desire to specialize I wouldn't mind paying extra tuition to increase my chances of becomming one, but that's just me
dental school is just more than cost IMO because all dental schools besides the Texas ones are expensive, people should look at other factors

Anything over 50K is worth it IMO. Don't you want to be there when the Bulls win a championship 😉
There's a big difference between expensive and expensive in terms of repayment and future outlook. If the difference is under 50K, then sure look at other factors to make your choice. Over 50K, go the cheaper one unless it's LECOM or one of the URM schools. That's just me though, everyone has their own opinion.
