Does anyone know what the yield for UPENN is? I know from my interview that they will interview about 340 applicants for around 100 spots, but have no idea how many offers they will make.

I know that for UCONN about half the offers made matriculate and was trying to guess based on that number. The two schools have a similar reputation and focus, but UCONN is much cheaper. I am guessing that the price might give UCONN a better yield than Penn, but Penn has its attractions as well.

For UPENN would a yield of 2.5 seem reasonable? That would mean they would interview 340, accept 250 and get 100. Thus, by getting an interview you have a 75% chance of getting in. Much better than the ~10% chance if you look at the total pool.

If someone knows a real number, I would love to hear it as I am just guessing!

Wow, that seems high, but then again I haven't heard what their yield is. I do know that they don't do mass acceptance letter mailings (they prefer to leak them out, and perhaps this could result in a high yield) and seriously consider all applications up until their March deadline. Corky said that applicants shouldn't freak out if they don't hear from Penn on Dec. 1st.

Do you mean an 80% chance of getting in, or an 80% yield from their acceptance letters?

I interviewed in mid December, but their admissions committee has not gotten together since I was their. This is the first time ever I wish there was no winter break!
