Upenn???

I was wondering everyone's take on the current status of UPenn. If I have not heard from them by now (I submitted AADSAS in July) I guess they passed me up huh? I have had success almost everywhere else, so I am not complaining too much, but I really wanted to at least hear from them by now! Has anyone heard from them recently, or been to a recent interview, and feel that their chances are still good? What is the word on them right now? Should I call them? Thanks!

Interviewed: Nova, Iowa, Creighton, UNLV, Marquette, Temple, Case, Michigan, OHSU.

Haven't heard from: UCSF, UPenn, Colorado

You're right, you shouldn't be complaining. Just be happy with what you got and chill out for now.

I got rejection letter today. my app mailed out in July.
I dont complain either.. I have plenty of interviews to fly every week until december.

I am only concerned because it was my number 1 choice when I first applied, and may very well still be if I can actually see their facilities in person. It's not an ego or pride thing, I just so happen to really like this school.

With nine interviews, I'm sure you'll find one that will suit you just fine.

i have not heard anything yet either, i was wondering from what i have seen on predents is it normal for them not to say anything and then just reject you in jan/feb. something that seems might be the case for most schools...they just hold on to your app and dont bother with rejecting you until really late. leaving you hope when there is none.

I applied in August and I hadnt heard from a few schools so last week I called to check my status and it turned out that 80% of the schools I applied to had some type of technical problem with my application that was holding me back from being under review. PENN hadnt recieved one of my letters of rec although it had been sent out Aug 22. NYU said they hadnt received my application fee although they cashed my check on Aug 21 (I was so pissed about that, they have the nerve to cash my check and forget to put it into the system that I payed, so my damn application sat on the shelf for 2 months!!!!). My point is that you have to call the schools frequently and CONFIRM that they received everything. Just because AADSAS or the school says they took care of everything that is usually far from the truth

Just wait it out and be patient. I would suggest taking up a new hobby and enjoying undergrad while you still can.

I havent heard from UPenn ever since I sent my secondary application in back in September. There are three scenerios I could think of and that is

1) they rejected me but havent gotten around notifying me yet.
2) They tossed me in the maybe pile and will only give me an interview later in March for waitlist position
3) They put me in the accepted w/out interview pile and will notify me officially on Dec 1st with a heartwarming phone call.

I know UPenn don't do scenerio 3 (acceptance w/out interview) but they might make an exception for me because my personal statement is soooo out of this world 🙂😉

applied in july. i heard back from five schools but not from penn. this waiting is driving me insane. why are they taking so long?!!!! 🙁

im probably in.. "not good enough to get in and too good to be rejected early." =/

To the OP: why don't you go ahead and call the admissions office to check on the status of your application - that would certainly clear up some questions you might have.
