My pre-med advisor suggested i take some medically-relevant classes this fall, mainly for what he called "academic redemption", to make up for some C's Ive made. Is updating your transcript at the end of the fall term helpful to the overall application even if you submit primary app say at the end of this month?

Your short answer is yes.

I would consider looking into whether it would be more beneficial to retake the classes you received C's in and replace those grades altogether rather than take other "medically-relevant" courses.

Not to mention, if you do not matriculate this year your app will start out more competitive next season.

I initially planned on doing the same thing, but I have had a lot of early interview invites, and was not sure how well I would do in my classes, or that I would need them.
