Upper Division Courses

With an acceptable GPA and MCAT how many upper division hours do most schools prefer in order to grant a student an acceptance. At my small university, upper division courses in my major are hard to come by. I get the "oh, well I think we might offer that next year " crap all the time. I am taking April MCAT and if all goes well will apply this summer. I have a 3.52 GPA, (3.85 at university) and approx 133 hrs. Only which very few are upper division.

Advice?

What is your major? You aren't required to take a certain amount of upper division courses?

Molecular Bio. Yes, I am required in order to graduate, however I will take them all in my last two semesters (crammed) and want to apply to matriculate in fall of 2008.
