I looks as if our medical school is at risk of losing a valuable resource, UpToDate, due to significant price increases. I am wondering how many medical school provides free access to UpToDate to their medical students. Please respond with a yes or no and the name of your medical school.

I am hoping this information may convince administration to step up and provide this resource for students.

Thank you!!

You might want to set up a poll for this.

But yes, we get Up to Date at MCW.

http://utdol.com/docs/home/UTD_Institutional_Subs.pdf (those are their US and Canada institutional subscribers)

this is a little more efficient than tallying individual posts.

good luck trying to convince your institution.

Even though the school may provide access on campus/hospital (to campus owned computers) they may not allow access off-campus or to your PDA/laptop even if you VPN in. I understand the latter convenience costs more so not all schools buy that option.

No access at school library. Access in hospital. Weird, I know.

Yes!!
University of Miami

But only physically on campus, no remote access from home or anywhere else.

Yup. Only on campus though. Gotta be on the campus wireless network or on a campus/hospital terminal.

YES - the residents might revolt if our library were to stop getting it. Definitely their number one resource, and thus, by extension, the number one resource for M3's and M4's. It's on campus only, along with a few other major teaching centers - the VA and the Omaha Children's Hospital for sure...
