Hey guys, been reading these forums for the past 2 years and this will be my first post. Thanks for the help in advance.
I got an F in gen chem 1 because in our class, for the previous 4 tests, you could just turn in the scantron and keep the test, but on the final, he wanted you to turn in the scantron and final exam, and I walked out with the exam and got an F :/. It's my fault and I take responsibility for that. I did get a B+ in the lab so hopefully that shows I wasn't an F student in gen chem. I retook the class and got an A my sophomore year (I was set to get an A in class the first time).
After that F, my freshman year GPA was a 3.15cGPA/2.9sGPA. Sophomore year and junior year, I basically got all As and pulled my GPA up to a 3.67/3.71 (both senior year semesters not included) and got a balanced 33 MCAT. I will be applying this coming cycle and was wondering how bad that F in a prereq will look.
I know my GPA and MCAT are around the average accepted applicant and without that F, I wouldn't really be worrying. How do you think adcoms will feel about my F even thought I have a decent GPA and MCAT? Is an F in a prereq an almost always denial?
I've seen people post about getting a C in a prereq but never an F.
Thanks for the help guys/gals
