Hey Guys,
I had a question about my upward trend and how strong it is.
My cumulative gpa is 3.63
My science gpa is 3.55
Here is a year to year breakdown of my GPA:
Freshman: 3.5
Sophomore: 3.02
Junior: 4.0
Senior: 4.0
MCAT: 514

Is my trend strong enough to make up for low gpa and bad sophmore year?

What courses did you take your sophomore year vs junior and senior?

Yes. Especially with that MCAT score. Assuming the other aspects of your application are in order, you should see success at low-mid tier MD schools.

Organic chemistry definitely lowered my GPA. Also i took two fundamental courses (Cell Bio/ Neuro) my sophmore year. However I was able to get A’s in advanced cell bio and advanced neuro. Besides that, I took all upper level courses in junior and senior year( biochem, mol bio, genetics, immuno, human parisitology, organic chem lab, etc.)

Then yes, with your MCAT you should be fine

Just have a way to explain the slump in sophmore year and how you conquered it and you should do fine in interviews (which you should get given your stats if ECs/LORs are in order).
