Hello fellow SDNers, So I'm entering my junior year with a 3.4 cgpa and a 3.2sgpa. My first semester I got a 2.9 overall and had 12 sciences credits but my second semester i managed to get a 3.5. I obviously was not ready and had a tough time transitioning and I had overwhelming family issues and lots of stress. My sophomore year was better I had a 3.6gpa for the year but still had family issues (financial and my dad's health was a large concern) and orgo was not the friendliest subject towards me. Now everything has gotten a lot better and I have been doing great in school now I got 95's on all my midterms (Physics, immuno, calc), assuming i can maintain a 3.8-4.0 for the next 65 credits remaining and pair with a great mcat score would i still be a good candidate for medical school? FYI i have managed to accumulate some good ECS so far. Thanks and any advice is greatly appreciated!!

You would probably be fine even if you didn't hit 3.8+ every semester, to be honest. You're only a sophomore, and low grades in freshman year are quite common. As long as the rest of your application is in place by the time you decide to apply (MCAT and extracurriculars), you'll be fine.

SORRY correction I'm in my junior year
