taking car or flying? i have interviews at nymc and syracuse also but i live in brooklyn so im thinking of flying. the bus ride is about 8 hours.

I don't really know where NYMC is in relation to the big train stations in the city, but if you can take AMTRAK, that'd be a good bet because it comes up to the Rensselaer train station and that's just minutes from Albany Med. You could take a cab from the train station no problem.

if possible rent a car and drive... get yourself onto the thruway heading north... if you get to the canadian border you've gone to far! 😉

easiest way:

Take Metro North Train from Tarrytown or Irvington (one is closer to NYMC, but I don't remember which, tell cab driver you need HUDSON line train). It should be like a 10min cab ride from NYMC.

Take HUDSON line train to Poughkeepsie (end of the line).

Take Amtrak Train from Poughkeepsie to Albany.

Both trains run all day and you can look up schedules online.
