I have an interview for a "mental health assistant" (mha) coming up, and is deciding whether it's better to try for this position or a "clinical assistant" position- or are they the same? I want to get into a clinical neuropsych program track, and want to attain experience related to this field. The job description is very vague and I couldn't find too much info on it on the internet either. It says mha's attend treatment rounds, document treatment sessions along with some other things. Does anyone know exactly what the job entails? Will it be more busy paperwork or actual clinical work? If anyone knows any info about the nature of the position (since I don't want to come into the interview not exactly knowing what I'm interviewing for), please give me a heads up! Also, the thing is I haven't seen any PAID psychology clinical assistant positions around my area. This one is a full-time job, if I can get the experience while getting paid to do it, why not take it? Oh, also, one of the requirements for this job is a bachelors degree in psych/social sciences or other related area.

i was mental health asistant/tech at a large state hospital during undergrad and it was largely montoring the wards and patient behavior, attending to patient needs, geting lunch/trays, leading eduational groups, etc. Good experience for working with those with severe mental illness. Good experience, but nothing specific or particualr benefical for npsych though really.
