Comrades 🙂
I need help with need access. I foolishly completed both the parents and the divorced parents sections. My parents have never been divorced so how can I get rid of the divorced parents section. I have tried everything, to no avail.

Aieeeeeeee, NeedAccess. How I despise that thing.

I think the simple answer is to just leave it blank. It will claim that it's 0% completed forever, but it won't generate an error message and refuse to let you submit it (or at least it shouldn't.)

Interestingly, my school has just informed me that there are other things you can leave blank as well -- after trying in vain to reconstruct my decades-old financial aid history (ah, to be a non-traditional student), my school told me it doesn't look at that information anyway and not to bother filling it in.

That doesn't mean other schools, don't want it, however...but it does make me wonder how many other answers they ignore.

Omores, thanks for the response. But the problem is that I completed both the parents and divorced parents sections. Both sections are now 100% complete. That is the dilemma.

Yes I don't like need access either <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="frown.gif" />

Oh, and what are IRA accounts. Are they the same as social security deductions?

what's 'need access'?

coenocyte, it is a financial aid application form that some schools request.

need access makes me want to cry. i'm letting my husband handle it!

Come on guys. I really really need your help <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="frown.gif" />

...hey quake...like look on the homepage of of the needaccess group for a Customer Service line. I called and I only waited like five minutes (I had the reverse problem...my step-father abandoned our family so I couldn't fill out the divorced section and it kept on making me). They should figure out what to do! Good luck and CALL! 😀

I don't have personal experience with 'need access,' but I would suggest contacting whoever administers the service, or your future med school finanacial aid office, and hopefully your concerns will be addressed.

why don't you just systematically delete all of the answers to the divorced parents section? You can re-access each area, whether complete or not, and then you could just delete all of your answers. At least I think that would work...

Whoops! Wasn't reading things too well this morning. I vote for Nameless' idea: just delete everything. If the program won't let you delete it, just put a zero for each category. You might want to send a note to the schools to explain what's going on, though they'll probably be able to figure it out if they correlate it with FAFSA.

thanks nameless and omores. I tried. After deleting the first page it doesn't allow u to go to the next page since you are only allowed to move on if the page is "complete".
I'll try the zeros if the reps can't help me on monday

IRA accounts are like 401(K) plans, which are retirment savings plans that a person may have. Except, instead of a company matching what you put in there, an IRA is an individual account that just holds your money and grows with interest. For more detailed information, check out:

Thanks Hippocrates.
Does this mean that the average graduating senior probably doesn't have any retirement accounts? There is another question that asks for the total amount of miney in other retierement accounts. Do I have to add up all my Social security deductions to answer this question 🙁 ?
