Hi fellows,
I need your serious evaluation on my spec.
I have applied for 2014 but I was only waitlisted and I feel like I have to reapply.

DAT : AA18/TS19/PAT22
GPA:3.4
sGPA: 3.25

Should I just retake DAT?
Should I retake some core science courses like BIO CHE?
Can I take some additional courses in community college? Is that helpful to boost my GPA? 🙁

Before you retake the DAT i would talk to the schools you were interviewed at and ask them to do what you are asking of us. They will likely give you pointers on how to improve your application. If you were to show improvemnt on the DAT it would obviously increase your chances, but the test is a gamble as you may not do as well, so that is up to you. There may be other ways such as EC's and core classes. I'm not sayinbg that you shouldnt retake the DAT, but you should contact the schools and get advice before making any decisions.

I would retake, an 18AA is fine with a 3.6 but it's not going to cut it for anything less than a 3.4 sGPA. If you manage a 20AA and apply early to the right schools, you should hear back. Which schools did you apply to this cycle?

May i ask where did you get waitlisted at? what schools did you apply to? and WHEN you submitted AADSAS this past cycle?

I agree with others, you should retake the DAT and get 21-23AA, it will draw the school's attention.

with a lower than average gpa..retaking your DAT is a MUST. aim for 21+ AA/TS preferably in combination with an excellent personal statement, LOR, extracurriculars, community service, TMOM. you get the drift. of course when i say "AIM," i mean for you to lock yourself away from society for a month with your study materials and pray that the "slumdog millionaire" effect happens to you. or you could get really lucky with your current stats, but the odds and gamble are not in your favor. therefore, low gpa + high dat = $$ 😎 good day...

I would say no to the CC, that (I would think) would look like you can't do it at a four year and need some way to boost your GPA, which isn't really the case. A 3.4 and 3.25 aren't bad. The DAT is not the best, but I got in with an 18/19/19 with a 3.6 sGPA and overall GPA. If I had not gotten in last year I would have retaken the DAT, so I would say that is your best bet. Can you get in with an 18? Yes, but it will be harder. Best of luck to you!
