Hello everyone,

I was wounding if any of you had any C or C+ grades in a few prerequisite courses obviously not more than 3. I am really worried because I had a few bad grades most of then in first year of university. I really appreciate your help.

Thanks

I had C's and a D but then I retook them and I interviewed at one place last year and am subsequently reapplying grades they said were not an issue

I've had 5 C+'s throughout undergrad, but all my other grades were higher than that. i didn't use any of these for my pre-requisites though. i got 3 interviews so far

Hello what do you mean you are reapplying but it has nothing to do with grades?

I don't have time to retake these courses and I'm applying anyways I'm just scared that will look bad in my application but all my other prerequisites are A's and a few B's...

Well since you are going to apply anyway, just relax. Worrying about it now will do nothing but stress you out, so take it easy and wait to hear back from the schools you apply to. The worst case scenario is that you will have another year to improve your grades and become a more competitive applicant, which really isn't all that bad.

Do you have competitive OAT scores? High scores would probably balance out the Cs.

I already graduated from university. I am upgrading a course right now. I still did not write the OAT.

Hi I had some C's on my transcript and got invited for an interview! You'll be fine as long as you balance it with high OAT scores and get A's from now on!

I think it depends, you can balance those bad grades by doing well in other classes. But doing poorly in science classes and doing better in art classes won't be that beneficial. I got a few C's in college and I was fortunate enough to be offered interviews as well as get accepted. Another factor is how strong your application is too (OAT, experiences, letters, extracurriculars). Your OAT is weighed a little more than you GPA because the OAT puts everyone on an even playing field. I didn't do that well in chemistry in college but on the OAT I did really well, so that helped to balance. If you do well on your OAT, that will be a big plus and that can definitely help anyone who has a GPA on the lower side.

Plenty of applicants are accepted with Cs. Unless you're talking about Waterloo, SUNY or Berkeley, you should be fine if you study hard for the OATs
Not necessarily true. GPA is a lot "heavier" than OAT.

I have gotten interviews for Suny, Nova, Salus, NECO and MCPHS and have two C+s in my second year! Don't worry 🙂
