Even if it were 99% white and 1% everyone else, giving preference to minorities based on race alone is going to be considered by some to be "stealing spots." You're not educating anyone or contributing to the conversation; you're just stoking the flames.

Obviously, talking about URM = death sentence on SDN and SDN old timers shriek like madmen at the mere mention, so why even bother posting about it? Trust me, you are not the first one to start a thread about it. Others have tried, and have fell on deaf ears. URM is a fact of life, there's nothing you can do to change it. Every med school has a URM quota to fill, and anyone else telling you otherwise is downright ignorant or in denial.
