URM very low mcat fairly low gpa

You are probably sunk with a 19. I'd say you should continue your mcat prep for a year while doing some retakes to get yourself over 3.0 in sgpa and get an mcat in the mid-high 20s.

If you find that you just can't get into the >24 range you might need to consider something else as medical training is full of standardized tests that you have to get past. A 19 isn't a good predictor, but you can probably do much better with time.

I concur 100%. No medical school is doing you any favors by admitting you when the evidence shows that you wouldn't be able to handle a medical school curriculum.

Rightnow, you need to identify you deficits and fix them, and always have a Plan B..

Your school should have a learning or education center. Seek them out for help. If you have test taking anxiety issues, seek out your school's counseling center.

(I concur with Goro- med school will eat you alive if those stats are any indication of your ability to perform on exams! =( )

Don't go to the Caribbean. With your stats they might(and that's a big Might) accept you and your money and then flunk you out. You haven't proven that you are even capable of succeeding in undergrad classes let alone med school classes. Do what Goro suggests!

For the two application cycles from 2013-2015, there were 189 African-American applicants with a GPA between 3.0 and 3.2 and a MCAT between 18-20. Only 4 were admitted. That's a 2.1% acceptance rate. If you can get that MCAT up to a 27, you have a 58% chance of getting at least one acceptance.
